Join our Team!

We have a wide variety of volunteer roles for young people to get involved with creating an impact in Youth Mental Health. We accept youth aged 16+, and are always happy to provide training and mentorship opportunities to empower young people to progress in their careers.*

For mental healthcare practitioners or NGO-Management mentors looking to support us through our Advisory Board, please contact us directly. 

*Special exceptions can be made for youth younger than this on a case-by-case basis.

Our Work Structure

All our positions are remote, asynchronous flexible hours and on a voluntary basis.

HOPE Staff roles are (2-6 hours per week).

Core Team

A HOPE Senior Staff role (officers/managers/directors) are leadership positions involving high level of initiative. specialism, expertise in your department, pursuit of continuing education, and team supervision.

 

Minimum time: 1 year

Interns

HOPE Junior Staff role

are entry-level positions where you can develop expertise in your field.

Note: 2-month Mental Health training is required for Wellbeing Interns.

 

Minimum time: 6 months*

*Unless through a School Partnership Programme.

Youth Advisors*

Join our Youth Advisory Group to use your lived experience to represent your community in creating impactful change.

Finance Officer

Your role will involve helping HOPE to manage our finances including planning our annual budget, preparing grant applications, networking with sponsors, with the support of HOPE's financial advisors.

Requirement: Undergraduate Business Student or above. 

Volunteer Manager

Your role will involve training and supporting volunteers to foster engagement and retention. You will also track performance, recognize their contributions, and align volunteer efforts with organizational goals.

Requirement: Prior Experience as an Executive in a Student Club or equivalent

Youth Coach

Your role will be to provide 1-2-1 coaching to youth, and promote their growth with committed action and effective skills building. 

Requirement: Hold a valid Coaching certification or be accepted to the Circl Future Leaders program.

Social Media Manager

Your role will involve helping HOPE to curate our social media content (Instagram) according to current youth needs with a focus on relatability and practicality.

Requirement: Social Media Portfolio

Community Engagement Officer

Your role will involve connecting with interested volunteers, service users and external organization partners. You may also be asked to represent HOPE at in-person events and local public speaking engagements. 

Preferred: Be based in Hong Kong, Basic mental health training (eg. MHFA) OR related work experience.

IT Specialist

Your role will involve developing our Digital Mental Health Innovation Projects through coding, UX UI design, and preparing proposals for App development.

Requirement: Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 

Are there other Volunteer Positions or Internships?

We typically offer internships through School Programmes (TOGETHER Partnerships) or via our Annual Summer Internship Programme.

Outside of our volunteer openings on the website, we usually post on Time Auction for project-based volunteers! On a case by case basis, we may also be able to take new interns to join the team to support our projects.
