The Environment & Wellbeing Connection
Science shows that human and environmental health are interdependent, inseparable and intricately linked (Mago et al., 2024), with implications for both our physical and mental wellbeing.

The natural environment is shown to improve our wellbeing by increasing resilience and psychological health, immune functions and as well as being a source of vital nutrients and diverse genetic resources that could be explored for future medicine (Everaert et al., 2025).

In addition, impacts of climate change and other environmental problems have consequences on our health, such as by causing climate-anxiety and eco-distress (Karl & Stanley, 2024).

By understanding the connection between environment and wellbeing, not only can we explore natural means of promoting flourishing, but also find sustainable ways of taking action for our planet while protecting our own health.
